Godrej Magic Handwash, a ready-to-mix handwash from Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL), launched an awareness campaign on Global Handwashing Day to promote proper handwashing practices and encourage the habit's sustainability. The campaign emphasizes that hand hygiene cannot be achieved superficially and highlights handwashing as a crucial pre-emptive measure for disease control and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

A survey by the National Sample Survey (NSS) in India revealed that only 35.82% of the population regularly practices hand hygiene before meals, while 60% of households wash their hands only with water. Reports indicate a decline in consistent handwashing habits as daily routines normalized post-COVID-19. Although Global Handwashing Day was observed recently, its message remains vital every day—proper hand hygiene is essential for preventing infections and ensuring overall health. This year's theme, "Why Are Clean Hands Still Important?," reinforces the ongoing importance of hand hygiene.

To amplify this message, Godrej Magic partnered with Godrej L’Affaire, the owned media platform from Godrej Industries Group, to release a digital film showcasing the importance of thorough handwashing. Using humor and clever scenarios, the film conveys a simple message: proper hygiene is "all or nothing."

Additionally, Godrej Magic collaborates with Teach for India, a non-profit focused on educational equity, to promote hand hygiene practices among children. This initiative aims to train students in over 500 classrooms on effective handwashing habits.

Neeraj Senguttuvan, head of marketing (Personal Care) at GCPL, emphasized that good hygiene remains critical post-COVID, stating, “With Godrej Magic Handwash, we are promoting a shift in mindset.” The campaign aims to remind people that good hand hygiene is essential for a healthy lifestyle.
