JioStar has unveiled the biggest expansion of its flagship reality franchise Bigg Boss with six regional editions to be launched simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Bangla during the festive season.

The shows which will kick off in September 2026 will be shown on JioStar’s TV network and streamed on JioHotstar and it will be the first time all the six language editions will launch at the same time.

The new season will see the return of hosts Salman Khan, Vijay Sethupathi, Nagarjuna, Kichcha Sudeepa and Mohanlal, while former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly will debut as host of the Bengali edition.

To mark the launch, JioStar also launched India’s Bigg Reality, a data driven coffee table book, chronicling the commercial and cultural journey of the reality franchise over the last two decades.

The report mentions that in 2025, Bigg Boss had a reach of over 500 million viewers and 438 billion viewing minutes across its different language editions.

Brand Magnet:

The company stated that audience engagement grew 47% year-on-year and over 625 brands collaborated with the franchise during the festive season, positioning it as one of India’s largest advertising platforms.

Commenting on the milestone, Mahesh Shetty, Head – Entertainment Sales, TV, JioStar said, “This simultaneous launch is the biggest celebration of the franchise till date.

“Bigg Boss has been reinventing itself constantly over the last two decades and each season has always been bigger, more engaging and culturally relevant. “This is our biggest milestone till date, with six editions coming together in languages,” he said.

The franchise has become an effective platform for brands, Shetty added, combining cultural relevance with measurable business results.

Digital Engagement:

Emphasising the franchise’s digital reach, Bhaskar Ramesh, Head – Entertainment Sales, Digital, JioStar said, Bigg Boss continues to deliver unified audience attention during India’s key festive shopping period. “In a fragmented landscape of audience attention, Bigg Boss acts as a powerful magnet delivering unified attention at scale during the three most important sale months of the year,” he said.

“Close to 75% viewers engage with the show across digital platforms, JioStar claims.

The franchise generated 9.32 billion fan votes, 43 million live chats on JioHotstar, 1.7 billion social media engagements and 30 million user-generated memes in 2025, taking brand campaigns beyond television to digital conversations.
