Apple Raises Apple Music Subscription Prices in India
Apple has raised Apple Music and select Apple One subscription prices in India, citing higher music licensing costs as part of a global price revision.

Apple has increased the prices of its Apple Music subscription plans in India, making the music streaming service more expensive for new and existing users. The change impacts Student, Individual and Family plans and some Apple One bundles also are more costly.
The new pricing has hiked the Student plan to ₹ 69 per month from ₹ 59 and the Individual plan to ₹ 139 per month from ₹ 119. The Family plan which supports up to six users now costs ₹229 per month, up from ₹179 earlier.
Apple has also increased the prices on its Apple One subscription bundles. The Apple One Individual plan now costs ₹195/month, up from ₹175, while higher-tier Apple Price revisions have also been seen in one plans.
The company said the hike is due to rising music licensing costs and is part of a global pricing update that also includes markets such as the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe. There are no new features or benefits from Apple with the updated pricing.

Global Price Update:
Apple has also changed Apple Music pricing in other markets. The United States now has an Individual plan at $11.99 per month and a Family plan at $19.99 per month. The Student plan has also been raised to $6.99 a month.
The latest revision is Apple’s first global Apple Music price increase since 2022, and the second price hike in India in under two years. In late 2024, Apple raised the Individual plan from ₹99 to ₹119 a month.

Streaming Costs Rise:
Despite the higher prices, Apple Music continues to offer features such as ad-free listening, offline downloads, Spatial Audio, Lossless Audio, and access to a catalogue of more than 100 million songs. Student subscribers in eligible markets will also continue to receive Apple TV+ as part of their subscription.
The latest revision comes as streaming platforms worldwide continue to increase subscription prices to offset rising content acquisition and music licensing costs, adding to the broader trend of rising digital subscription expenses.
