According to reports from media networks, Baba Ramdev and Patanjali Ayurved's Managing Director Acharya Balkrishna have expressed their willingness to offer a public apology to the Supreme Court.
However, the apex court has summoned both individuals to appear before it on April 23, expressing doubts regarding the plea put forth by Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna.
Patanjali Ayurved has been under the scrutiny of the Supreme Court since April, facing criticism for disseminating "misleading advertisements" and disregarding the court's directives.
In a recent development, the Supreme Court rebuked the company for its "deceptive practices" and directed it to submit affidavits. Interestingly, these affidavits were reportedly made public before being formally submitted to the court.
The Supreme Court bench emphasized the importance of setting an example for other companies regarding consumer protection, stating, "The message needs to reach society at large, not just regarding one FMCG company, but in terms of law violation." The court highlighted the company's conduct towards the general public as a significant concern.
