Swiggy Dineout Partners Apsara to Launch Screen-Free PlayPads for Young Diners
Swiggy Dineout and Apsara by Hindustan Pencils have launched the Apsara PlayPad, a screen-free activity placemat for children across 50+ restaurants in eight cities to promote creativity and family engagement.
Swiggy Dineout has partnered with Apsara, a Hindustan Pencils brand, to launch the Apsara PlayPad- a screenless activity placemat that helps keep kids engaged at restaurants and encourages families to spend more quality time together.
The scheme is being introduced in over 50 restaurants across eight cities, offering an alternative to mobile screens for young diners while they wait for their food.
The PlayPad includes a variety of interactive activities such as colouring pages, puzzles, mazes, word games and creative challenges, all designed to enhance waiting time through imagination and learning.

Screen-Free Dining:
The companies say the partnership started with a simple question: How can restaurants keep kids entertained without handing them a screen? Instead of using digital devices, the partners used a classic combination of paper, pencils and creative play.
The initiative comes as brands increasingly look to create experience-led consumer engagement, particularly around family-orientated occasions, while responding to growing conversations around reducing children’s screen time.
Commenting on the partnership, Aishwarya Shinod, Chief Marketing Officer, Hindustan Pencils said, “At Apsara, we have always believed that creativity begins with the simplest of tools- a pencil, a sheet of paper and a child’s imagination.

"We believe in creating moments for families to slow down, connect and enjoy screen-free experiences together. Our partnership with Swiggy Dineout is a reflection of that belief. “The Apsara PlayPad is not just an activity sheet, it is an invitation to children to colour, solve, imagine and create while making waiting time a joyful part of the dining experience,” she added.
The PlayPad is built to help restaurants enhance the dining experience, while fostering creativity, family interaction and mindful engagement with children, the companies said.
Apsara PlayPad is now available at select Swiggy Dineout partner restaurants in eight cities.
