IKEA Appoints Jessamine Avila as India CMO
IKEA has appointed Jessamine Avila as Chief Marketing Officer for India, strengthening its leadership team as it expands its omnichannel presence across the country.
IKEA announced the appointment of Jessamine Avila as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for India, strengthening its leadership team as the company continues to build its omnichannel presence in the country.
Avila will lead the development of the company’s marketing strategy and build brand relevance as the business grows across physical and digital touchpoints, in her new role with the Growth and Marketing function of IKEA India.
Avila brings over 20 years of experience in marketing and brand building, including 12 years at IKEA in global and market leadership roles.
During her time with the company she has held leadership roles in Australia as well as working with IKEA’s global marketing team in Malmö, Sweden. There she worked on brand and marketing transformation efforts to drive customer relevance and support long-term business growth. She combines a global brand perspective with an understanding of how to tailor strategies for local markets.

Focus on Customer Relevance:
In India, Avila will work to deepen customer relationships and develop IKEA’s brand expression in a multi-channel environment to create a more consistent and engaging consumer experience.
IKEA has achieved resonance with consumers since entering the Indian market through storytelling that is locally relevant, immersive retail experiences and digital-first engagement. Its marketing strategy, which is centred around day to day life at home, has helped the brand move beyond awareness and into conversations within popular culture in urban India while supporting adoption across online and offline channels.
