Tata Motors has named Ejaz Takey as Head of SUV Marketing, bringing in an experienced automotive marketer with over 15 years of experience across brand management, sales, marketing and business strategy.

Takey comes to the automaker from Mahindra & Mahindra, where he was most recently Head of Brand. In his time at the company he helped to develop brand strategy and led consumer engagement efforts across the portfolio.

Takey spent his time at Mahindra in different leadership positions including Head of Brand and Senior Brand Manager for Scorpio. He has worked on brand building, marketing strategy and customer focused initiatives in one of India’s leading automotive companies.

SUV Focus:

Prior to joining Mahindra & Mahindra, Takey had stints with Nissan Motor India and AUTOCAR India giving him experience in both the automotive manufacturing and media fields.

He assumes the role at a time when Tata Motors continues to sharpen its focus on the fast growing SUV segment which remains a key driver of growth and competition in the passenger vehicle market in India.

Takey has a strong background in automotive branding and consumer engagement and will play an important role in developing the marketing strategy for Tata Motors’ SUV portfolio and supporting the company’s efforts to deepen customer connections in a highly competitive category.
