Coca-Cola India Launches AI-Powered ‘Halftime Surprise’ Experience With Google Gemini
Coca-Cola India has launched “Halftime Surprise,” an AI-powered interactive campaign built with Google Gemini featuring personalised music, movie and time-travel experiences.
Coca-Cola India has introduced "Coca-Cola Halftime Surprise," a new interactive experience based on AI and co-created with Google, powered by Google Gemini.
According to a news report by the StoryBoard 18, the initiative creates three AI-driven digital experiences that are designed to turn everyday Coca-Cola breaks into personalized moments of creativity, entertainment and self-expression.
Taking inspiration from Coca-Cola’s global “Halftime” philosophy, consumers can experience it via QR codes on special Coca-Cola packs.
Once scanned, users are plunged into a gamified interface powered by Google Gemini, where taps, swipes and personalised inputs unlock interactive AI-generated experiences.

Personalised AI Storytelling:
The activation harnesses Gemini’s Canvas feature to create shifting visual stories, music-based alter egos and imagined timelines based on user interactions.
The company said one experience immerses consumers in cinematic comic-strip worlds, while another takes them through prehistoric, medieval or futuristic settings generated by AI-powered storytelling.
Users also have the opportunity to unlock rewards and win vouchers with AI-generated creations. The campaign features three interactive journeys.
“Be a Rockstar” lets users upload selfies via a jukebox-style interface to create personalized album covers and custom music tracks, with the chance to win concert tickets.
In “Be a Movie Star,” users swipe through a movie vending machine interface to star as lead characters in custom six-panel comic strips, and be eligible for movie vouchers.
The third, “Travel Through Time”, enables users to create AI-generated vision-board collages of themselves in different eras and worlds, with chances to win travel-related prizes like flight and hotel vouchers.

Gen Z Engagement:
Commenting on the launch, Greishma Singh said the campaign was designed around Gen Z’s evolving culture of digital self-expression.
“For Gen Z consumers today, self-expression is fluid, visual, and deeply shaped by music and digital culture,” Singh said.
She said the collaboration with Google turns a simple QR scan into a highly personalised AI-powered experience where every interaction produces unique creative results.
“Personalized and interactive engagement is becoming more and more important in brand experiences,” Shekar Khosla said.
“Working with Gemini, folks can easily create fresh visual stories and turn small moments of life into a playful expression of self,” Khosla said.
The launch comes on the back of the success of Coca-Cola’s earlier AI-led “Festicons” campaign during Diwali, which enabled users to create personalised festive expressions using generative AI tools.
Today, the company is taking that AI-powered engagement strategy and applying it to an always-on consumer experience built around entertainment, creativity and participation with “Coca-Cola Halftime Surprise.”
