Prasar Bharati’s digital public service media platform WAVES OTT has crossed 1 crore registered users and recorded more than 1.4 crore downloads across mobile, web and connected TV platforms.
The milestone is a crucial step in the platform’s growth plan as it looks to establish itself as a one-stop shop for television, radio, on-demand content and public service programming.
Prasar Bharati said WAVES OTT has now been made available in more than 130 countries, which provides a platform for the distribution of multilingual Indian content to audiences across the globe.

Growth Roadmap:
According to reports, the broadcaster said the feat reinforces its vision of building a full-fledged digital media ecosystem that combines various forms of public service and entertainment content on a single platform.
WAVES OTT has also substantially expanded its content catalogue. Today, the platform has more than 24,000 titles and more than 15,000 hours of programming in multiple genres and languages.
Prasar Bharati, as part of its next phase of growth, plans to strengthen regional content partnerships, expand distribution across more devices and accelerate user acquisition efforts.

The broadcaster plans to have 2 crore registered users by March 2027 as it scales up its footprint in India and overseas markets.
