Sweet Relief: Hershey’s India Turns Daily Bad Luck into Moments of Comfort with New TBWA\Lintas Campaign
Hershey’s India launches its latest campaign, "Life Is Hard, Par Hershey’s Hai Na Yaar," created by TBWA\Lintas to bring everyday comfort during life's chaotic moments.
In a fast-paced world filled with daily stress and unpredictable twists, Hershey’s India has introduced its latest brand platform aimed at turning life's minor mishaps into moments of pure comfort. Developed in collaboration with agency TBWA\Lintas (a part of Omnicom Advertising India), the new campaign embraces the idea that small, intentional acts of self-care can instantly lift a bad day.
Turning Everyday Misfortunes into Laugh-Out-Loud Moments
The core creative concept centers around the everyday reality that happiness doesn't simply happen on its own—sometimes, it must be created. The campaign's anchor ad film follows a protagonist enduring a relentlessly chaotic day where one hilariously unfortunate event leads straight into another. Despite his best efforts to recover, everything continues to backfire. At his breaking point, a simple Hershey’s chocolate bar steps in to provide a much-needed moment of joy and reset.
Anchored by the relatable Hinglish tagline, "Life Is Hard, Par Hershey’s Hai Na Yaar," the ad reflects Hershey’s core "Innocent Optimist" personality—staying warm, insightful, and lighthearted throughout.
A Strategic Blend of Humor and Emotional Connection
Speaking on the campaign launch, Kamy Devaguptapu, Director of Marketing for India & APAC at Hershey’s India, highlighted the psychological grounding behind the brand's message:
"Our lives are full of moments of uncertainty and pressure that chips away at our optimism. These everyday moments are hard, but made a little lighter through simple pleasures, like a bit of signature Hershey's chocolate! Our new campaign, 'Life is hard, par Hershey's hain na yaar,' beautifully captures this idea — blending humour in a slice-of-life situation; with a moment of comfort that Hershey's brings to everyday chaos."
Rolling Out a Multi-Platform Cultural Narrative
The creative effort is led by Sarvesh Raikar, President – Creative at TBWA\Lintas, along with Executive Creative Director Vishal Bagade’s team in Mumbai and director Shirish Dahiya of Jamic Films, who crafted the spot as an action-packed "thriller-comedy."
Following the strong response to Hershey’s previous Valentine’s Day campaign, this launch marks the rollout of a broader brand platform set to extend across multiple media channels and product lines throughout the year. The agency aims to take Hershey’s global presence and anchor it deeply within local Indian culture by tapping into shared, relatable experiences.
