Shark Tank India Launches '#DontBeATota' Campaign

Shark Tank India has launched a new campaign “#DontBeATota” to motivate aspiring entrepreneurs to focus on building great businesses rather than get distracted by start-up jargons after launching registrations for its sixth season.

Developed by independent creative agency In the campaign, The Script Room addresses what it describes as a rising misconception in the start-up ecosystem – that knowing the language of venture capital is enough to make it as an entrepreneur.

The campaign uses humour to emphasise that investors are more interested in solid business fundamentals, execution and problem-solving than buzzwords and industry jargon.

Startup Fundamentals:

The campaign's central message is that successful businesses are built on conviction, resilience, execution and a sound understanding of business fundamentals, not on fancy jargon.

“The creative idea was to make entrepreneurship feel more approachable,” said Ayyappan Raj, Founder of The Script Room, on the campaign.

“The campaign is based on a simple idea: businesses are built on ideas and execution, not buzzwords. “Shark Tank India wanted to make entrepreneurship feel less intimidating and using a parrot to mock start-up jargon felt like an interesting way to convey that message,” he said.
