Ranjeet Kate is given strategic assignments' in the Times Group reorganization

On Friday, Times Group assigned senior executive Ranjeet Kate, who has led Vijay Karnataka daily since 2015, to a new post in Mumbai.

 

According to an email sent out to the staff on Friday by Sivakumar Sundaram, Chairman Executive Committee at Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd. (Times Group), Kate will be handling "projects in the language spaces as well as other strategic assignments."

 

Kate has been the CEO of Metropolitan Media Company Limited - A Times Group Company that publishes Vijay Karnataka newspaper in Bengaluru since 2015.

 

According to his Linkedin profile, he has also worked for Bangalore Mirror and Western Mirrors (Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad).

Kate has been a Times Group loyalist for almost two decades, serving the firm in numerous roles. He was Director-BCCL, Director-Response and Languages, and a World Wide Media board member.

 

Kate had previously worked with ITC for over three years, as well as Marico as General Manager-Marketing. He also worked for Saregama HMV as VP-Marketing for two years in 2000.
