POND'S Revives ‘Googly Woogly Wooksh’ for Super Light Gel Campaign
POND'S revives its iconic 'Googly Woogly Wooksh' tagline with Sara Arjun for the Super Light Gel campaign.
POND'S has brought back its classic 'Googly Woogly Wooksh' tagline with a new campaign for POND'S Super Light Gel, and actor Sara Arjun has joined as the brand's latest ambassador.
The campaign takes one of the brand’s most iconic advertising slogans and re-imagines it for a younger generation, while also tapping into the nostalgia of consumers who remember the original campaign.
The new campaign features POND’S Super Light Gel, a moisturiser with Pro-Ceramides, Hyaluronic Acid and GAP Aminos. The brand says that the product is light-weight, absorbs better than traditional creams, yet still hydrates.

Iconic Revival:
The campaign, created by Ogilvy India, takes a new approach to storytelling, by setting the film in a boys’ hostel, where a bunch of young boys experience the benefits of skincare. Sara Arjun is the new face of the brand in the campaign too.
Kainaz Karmakar and Harshad Rajadhyaksha, Chief Creative Officers, Ogilvy India said “Considering the legacy of Indian advertising, resurrecting ‘Googly Woogly Wooksh’ was a huge responsibility.
The new campaign puts a modern spin on the iconic idea, and with an unconventional setting, youthful storytelling and a new brand ambassador, it offers a fresh take on the skincare narrative,” they added. The agency also plans to extend the campaign with a series of short digital films.

Sunanda Khaitan, Chief Marketing Officer, Beauty & Wellbeing, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), said the tagline has been part of the cultural memory of India for decades.
“The mix of nostalgic language with POND’S Super Light Gel is symbolic of the brand’s efforts to combine trusted skincare science with emotional recall and also introduce a new generation of consumers to the product,” she said.
The campaign will be rolled out through a series of digital films on online platforms.
