Meta has announced the launch of its Americas Workforce Academy, a new initiative to help combat the growing shortage of skilled workers needed to build out digital and AI infrastructure.
The program marks a major evolution from Meta’s previous focus on software talent, reflecting the increasing demand for skilled tradespeople as technology companies ramp up investments in data centers and related infrastructure.
In announcing the initiative, Meta Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg said the United States would need “hundreds of thousands of skilled tradespeople” in the years ahead, underscoring a growing deficit in the workforce required to build and maintain large-scale technology projects.
