Meta Launches Global Campaign to Position AI as a Tool for Human Connection

Meta Platforms has kicked off a new global brand campaign that lays out its long-term vision for artificial intelligence, with Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg describing AI as a technology to boost human connection, not replace human workers.

The campaign, which was launched on Thursday, includes a promotional film and digital advertising assets that spotlight Meta’s approach to integrating AI across its consumer platforms. The initiative focuses on accessibility, everyday use and open access, reflecting the company’s strategy of embedding AI into products that billions of people use.

In a statement that accompanied the campaign, Zuckerberg said Meta’s long-standing focus on using social technologies to connect people will continue to inform its AI strategy. The company is positioning AI as a means to help people communicate, create and interact more effectively, instead of making discussions about automation or job displacement.

The campaign also addresses growing public worries about the impact of artificial intelligence on jobs and the economy. Instead, Meta is backing open-source and democratised AI technologies that will make advanced tools available to individuals, creators and small businesses, rather than just large companies.

As part of its wider AI roadmap, Meta reiterated plans to scale up general-purpose AI assistants and consumer AI agents across its suite of apps, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger. The company’s intention is to embed AI into everyday experiences so users can get smart help without leaving the platforms they’re already on.

The campaign comes as big technology companies keep pouring money into artificial intelligence, with many rivals focused on enterprise software, cloud infrastructure and workplace productivity tools. But Meta is taking a different tack, focusing on consumer-facing AI experiences designed to drive engagement across its social ecosystem.

With the new campaign, Meta is looking to reinforce its vision of AI as an accessible technology that helps with creativity, communication and everyday interactions, while also expanding its role across the company’s portfolio of consumer applications.
