Jubilant FoodWorks, the operator of Domino's Pizza and Dunkin' in India, has received a show cause notice from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Department proposing a tax demand of nearly ₹46.91 crore. The company said it intends to contest the notice, maintaining that the case lacks merit.

Jubilant FoodWorks said in a regulatory filing Tuesday that the GST Department has issued a show cause notice proposing a GST demand of ₹46.9 crore. “The Company is proceeding with filing detailed objections within the stipulated timelines,” it said.

Growth Continues:

Jubilant FoodWorks further said that it has “very good case on merits” and would respond in detail with documentary evidence to rebut the allegations.

"The Company has a very good case on merits and will file detailed submissions with documentary proof to counter the allegations in the show cause notice before the prescribed timeline. The proposed demand is likely to be dropped," it said.

The disclosure comes alongside the company's first-quarter FY27 financial results, which reflected steady business growth.

Jubilant FoodWorks reported a 14.1% year-on-year increase in consolidated revenue from operations to ₹2,569 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.  Standalone operating revenue, mainly driven by Domino's India, was up 9.2% to ₹1,848.5 crore.

Domino's India recorded 2.5% like-for-like sales growth during the quarter.  The company also expanded its retail footprint by adding 76 net stores across the group, taking its total store count to 3,712 outlets at the end of June.  Of these, 58 new stores were opened under the Domino’s India brand, taking the domestic network to 2,513 stores.
