Reliance Approves Jio Platforms DRHP, Plans AI Expansion Through Reliance Intelligence

Jio Platforms board has approved its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with filing to be made to Securities and Exchange Board of India later on Friday, Reliance Industries Limited Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani said.

Speaking at the Reliance Industries 49th Annual General Meeting, Ambani termed the development as an emotional milestone for the company and its investors.

Reliance’s next generation leadership team and Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani and Anant Ambani are leading the public listing process as part of the group’s broader future growth and value-creation strategy.

"The proposed listing will demonstrate that India can build technology companies of global scale, capability and value, which will create opportunities for existing and prospective investors," Mukesh Ambani said.

India’s AI Ambition:

Along with the IPO announcement, Ambani also announced Reliance’s next big technology initiative through Reliance Intelligence, a business that will focus on building artificial intelligence infrastructure, platforms and services for consumers, enterprises and government organisations.

Drawing parallels with the telecom revolution led by Jio, Ambani said the objective is to position India as a creator and leader in artificial intelligence rather than merely a consumer of global technologies. The initiative is already in its execution phase and is being supported by partnerships with global technology companies Google, Meta and NVIDIA.
