Cleartrip Takes A Swipe At ‘Bad Bosses’ With New Print Ad
Cleartrip takes a satirical swipe at ‘bad bosses’ while promoting its ₹0 hotel booking feature and flexible travel plans.
Cleartrip, owned by Flipkart, has rolled out a new print campaign that is a satire on the common workplace frustration of leave requests being declined by managers.
The creative takes the form of an open letter addressed to “bad bosses” and takes advantage of the threat of cancelled holiday plans to bring out the ‘Book Hotels at Rs 0’ feature of Cleartrip.

Turning Leave Rejections Into A Travel Insight:
The ad preyed on the uncertainty that employes have when they try to plan holidays around work schedules. A rejected leave application can make travellers cancel or modify plans, and they may be stuck with non-refundable hotel bookings and other expenses.
Cleartrip capitalises on this tension to launch its hotel booking service that allows customers to book their stays without any upfront payment or credit card.
If plans change, customers can also lock in room prices until the payment window and cancel bookings without any extra cancellation charge.

Campaign Targets Travel Uncertainty:
The campaign doesn’t focus on the usual hotel-booking perks but instead builds its message around the unpredictable travel plans that come from work commitments, schedule changes or personal emergencies.
Cleartrip turns the pain of the “bad boss” into a consumer insight around flexible travel planning by making the “bad boss” the punchline.
Ultimately, the campaign emphasises the ability to book a hotel without a financial commitment upfront, offering travellers more flexibility when their plans are uncertain.
