Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Z) Chief Executive Officer Punit Goenka has thanked FIFA President Gianni Infantino for recognising the company's efforts to grow football in India, reaffirming Z's long-term commitment to strengthening the sport's ecosystem in the country.
Goenka thanked FIFA for its partnership in a letter to Infantino and Team FIFA ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 final, stating that the collaboration was a significant milestone in bringing football closer to Indian audiences.
The statement comes after a video message by Infantino thanking Zed TV for its efforts to promote football in India and take the sport to venues beyond the traditional TV set through authorised public screenings at cinemas, pubs, restaurants, airports and hotels.

Football Commitment:
Infantino said the partnership involving 39 FIFA competitions has helped to position football as a year-round sporting narrative for Indian fans.
Replying to the message, Goenka said, “As we come together for the final match of the Greatest Show on Earth, we would like to take a moment to thank you for being such a valuable partner in bringing the passion and spirit of football closer to fans across India.”
The partnership was a "defining milestone in our commitment to elevate and strengthen the football ecosystem in India" and a "significant step towards making football an integral part of India's sporting culture," he added.
Goenka also reiterated Z’s commitment to its partnership with FIFA, and said the company looks forward to achieving many more milestones together.

He expressed gratitude to Infantino and the FIFA team for their trust, collaboration and continued support. "We have only just begun this remarkable journey together and look forward to many milestones that are to come," he wrote.
He also thanked viewers, advertisers, distribution partners, affiliates, presenters, football experts and Team Z for helping take football deeper into the heart of India.
Goenka signed off the letter by saying Z continues to be committed to inspire the next generation of football fans and hoped that India would one day be on the FIFA World Cup stage.
