TVS Motor Expands Premium Motorcycle Lineup with Tech Upgrades Ahead of Festive Season

TVS Motor Company has rolled out significant updates to its premium motorcycle lineup ahead of the upcoming festive season. The refresh introduces new technology, safety features, color schemes, and variants across its popular Apache and Ronin ranges as the automaker moves to capture growing demand in India’s premium two-wheeler segment.

The update spans multiple models, including the Apache RTR 160, RTR 160 4V, RTR 200 4V, Apache RR 310, Apache RTR 310, and the TVS Ronin. According to Vimal Sumbly, Head of Premium Business at TVS Motor Company, the strategy relies on catering to distinct rider profiles across different usage scenarios.

Apache Series Gets Advanced Tech and Fresh Styling

The core of TVS’s festive refresh centres on its flagship Apache brand, which has surpassed seven million sales across 90 countries. The new updates emphasize urban utility, track-inspired performance, and enhanced safety:

  • Apache RTR 160: Upgraded with Traction Control System (TCS), hazard lamps, and LED TSLs. Priced at ₹1,27,990 (ex-showroom Delhi).
  • Apache RTR 160 4V: Gains a TFT display featuring Google Map Mirroring, Panic Brake Alert, and a Type-C charging port. Priced at ₹1,41,440 (ex-showroom Delhi).
  • Apache RTR 200 4V: Adds front adjustable USD suspension alongside connected features like Google Map Mirroring and Panic Brake Alert. Priced at ₹1,49,990 (ex-showroom Delhi).
  • Apache RR 310 & RTR 310 (Black Diamond Editions): Both flagship 310cc models feature an all-black livery. The RR 310 also introduces Keyless Ride technology. The RR 310 is priced at ₹2,87,790, while the RTR 310 comes in at ₹2,48,990 (ex-showroom Delhi).

TVS Ronin Focuses on Customization and Lifestyle Riding

Alongside the performance-focused Apache range, TVS updated its modern-retro Ronin lineup to appeal to lifestyle riders seeking self-expression. The Ronin community currently counts over 200,000 owners.

The lineup introduces a new entry Base+ variant equipped with dual-channel ABS and updated graphics. Upward in the range, the Mid variant gains a connected instrument cluster and a Type-C charger, while the Top variant adds a Traction Control System, Type-C charging, and a premium seat design. TVS has also introduced six new colorways across the Ronin range: Sunlit Yellow, Desert Mirage, Glacier Silver, Charcoal Ember, Nimbus Grey, and Midnight Blue.

Rising Premiumization Drives Portfolio Strategy

TVS’s seasonal lineup refresh aligns with broader shifts in India’s two-wheeler market, where buyers are increasingly opting for higher-displacement engine options and advanced features.

Sumbly highlighted key factors supporting this trend, including expanding road infrastructure, wider access to vehicle financing, rising consumer purchasing power, and growing interest in motorcycle touring. By offering distinct choices across urban, track, and modern-retro segments, TVS aims to capture demand across multiple consumer price points during the peak festive buying period.

The updated Apache and Ronin models are now available at TVS dealerships across India.
