Nykaa Acquires 51% Stake in Skincare Brand Aminu for Up to ₹32 Crore

Nykaa has announced the acquisition of a 51% stake in direct-to-consumer skincare brand Aminu for up to ₹32 crore in cash, strengthening its footprint in the premium skincare segment.

As per the transaction, Nykaa will buy the remaining 49% stake over the next few years with the deal expected to be closed by September 15.

Founded in 2019 by Prachi Bhandari and Aman Mohunta, Aminu offers a variety of skincare and body care products such as serums, cleansers, sunscreens, moisturisers and masks. The founders will continue to run the business with Nykaa assisting it in its next phase of growth.

The acquisition is another premium skincare brand to Nykaa’s House of Brands portfolio. Aminu’s products will be priced at a higher level than the company’s current skincare products, helping fill a gap in its premium beauty portfolio, the company said.

Portfolio Expansion:

Nykaa also pointed to Aminu’s research and development capabilities as a key strategic advantage, saying the brand has developed over 30 proprietary formulations.

Aminu uses an omnichannel distribution model, selling through its own website and marketplaces such as Nykaa, Amazon, Clinikally and Zepto. It’s products are available through 180+ salons across India.

The bootstrapped skincare brand, which posted revenues of ₹19.4 crore in FY26, grew some 50% YoY from about ₹13 crore in FY25.

The acquisition is part of Nykaa’s broader strategy to expand its portfolio of owned beauty brands across different categories and price points.

The company currently owns seven beauty and personal care brands and five fashion brands under its House of Brands portfolio.  That’s not all. It has earlier picked up stakes in brands like Dot & Key and Earth Rhythm.

Nykaa has also spotted premium fragrances, derma-led skincare, mid-premium nutraceuticals and professional makeup as key growth categories for future expansion.
