Instamart and Bharat Organics Bring Farm-Fresh Organics to Your Door

A Big Step for Organic Food in India

Instamart, the popular quick commerce platform has announced a major partnership with Bharat Organics, a farmer-led cooperative brand, to make certified organic food products more accessible and affordable for Indian consumers. This collaboration, supported by the National Cooperative Organic Limited (NCOL), aims to connect traditional cooperative farmers directly with digital-first urban households, bridging the gap between rural producers and city consumers.

What Makes This Partnership Special?

This initiative is more than just a business deal. It’s a step towards a healthier India and a stronger farming community. The partnership aligns with the Government of India’s White Revolution 2.0, which focuses on boosting the agri-cooperative sector through sustainable practices, better market access, and digital technology.

Key Highlights:

  • 21 Organic Staples Now on Instamart:
Consumers in major metros and tier-1 cities can now order from a range of 21 organic products. This includes everyday essentials like tur dal, masoor dal, rajma, kabuli chana, brown chana, basmati rice, whole wheat atta, gram flour, jaggery powder, sugar, a variety of whole and ground spices, organic oils, honey, green and herbal teas, and desi ghee1.
  • Certified and Lab-Tested:
All products are certified and undergo rigorous lab testing to ensure quality and safety, addressing the growing demand among health-conscious urban households for traceable, genuine organic food1.
  • Farmer-First Approach:
Bharat Organics stands out for its commitment to farmers. About 50% of all profits from product sales go directly to member farmers. This ensures fair compensation, encourages sustainable farming, and keeps farmers at the heart of the value chain1.

Voices Behind the Partnership

Amitesh Jha, CEO of Instamart, said,

“Our focus has always been on delivering value, convenience, and quality. This partnership promotes healthier living and supports local communities through technology. It’s also a win for India’s organic farmers, giving them greater market access.”1

Shri Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, added,

“Organic food should be honest, affordable, and directly benefit the farmers. With Bharat Organics, we’re offering clean, lab-tested staples that ensure fair returns for farming communities. The launch on Swiggy Instamart bridges our agricultural roots with today’s digital consumer landscape.”

Vipul Mittal, MD of NCOL, remarked,

“This is a proud moment for our cooperative and thousands of organic farmers. Instamart’s reach and trust make it the ideal platform to bring Bharat Organics into the homes of mindful buyers. We’re delivering food, trust, transparency, and empowerment.”

Why It Matters

For Consumers:

  • Affordable Organic Choices:
The partnership makes certified organic food more affordable and accessible, especially for urban families who want to eat healthy without breaking the ban.
  • Transparency and Trust:
With traceable supply chains and lab-tested products, consumers can trust what they’re buying and eating.

For Farmers:

  • Better Income:
By sharing half of the profits with farmers, the initiative ensures they receive fair compensation for their hard work.
  • Sustainable Agriculture:
The focus on organic, sustainable practices helps protect the environment and ensures long-term benefits for both farmers and consumers.

For the Organic Food Market:

  • Stronger Supply Chains:
The partnership leverages Instamart’s digital reach and Bharat Organics’ robust distribution network (already present in 300+ Safal outlets and 10,000 stores in Delhi-NCR) to reach more Indian homes than ever before.
  • Boosts Farmer Cooperatives:
By empowering cooperatives, the initiative supports the government’s vision of a resilient, sustainable agricultural sector1.

Looking Ahead

This collaboration is expected to give a significant boost to the organic food market in India. As more consumers look for healthy, traceable, and sustainable food options, partnerships like this one can set new standards for trust and transparency in the industry. For urban households, it means more choices and better health. For farmers, it means recognition, fair pay, and a sustainable future.
