Dentsu Elevates Surjo Dutt As CEO Of Dentsu Creative Webchutney
Dentsu has promoted Surjo Dutt as CEO of Dentsu Creative Webchutney as the company strengthens its creativity and AI-led growth strategy in India.
Dentsu has elevated Surjo Dutt as Chief Executive Officer of Dentsu Creative Webchutney, expanding his responsibilities beyond his existing role as Chief Creative Officer.
According to the company, Dutt will continue reporting to Amit Wadhwa while leading the agency’s next phase of creative and commercial growth.
The transition also marks a leadership change for Indrajeet Mookherjee, who will now take on the role of President- Integrated Client Management for South clients at Dentsu.
The company said the elevation comes at a time when the advertising industry is increasingly focused on artificial intelligence, with Dentsu positioning human creativity and technology together as the central force driving modern business growth.

AI-Driven Creativity:
According to Dentsu, the network is strengthening alignment between its media, data, technology, customer experience management and commerce capabilities while placing transformative creative thinking at the centre of its strategy.
Dentsu Creative Webchutney, alongside Dentsu Creative Isobar and Dentsu Creative PR, will play a key role in advancing the company’s creativity-led growth ambitions in India.
In his expanded role, Dutt will be responsible for strengthening client partnerships, building on the agency’s legacy of culturally influential campaigns and preparing its creative offerings for an increasingly AI-driven landscape.

The company also said he will focus on attracting and nurturing talent while strengthening Dentsu Creative Webchutney’s positioning within the broader dentsu network globally.
Commenting on the elevation, Harsha Razdan said the company continues to believe that imagination, empathy and original thinking remain deeply human strengths despite the rise of AI technologies.
“Technology, including AI, will give us new speed, new scale and new possibilities. But imagination, empathy and original thought will always remain deeply human qualities,” Razdan said.
Amit Wadhwa added that placing a creative leader at the helm of the agency reflects the company’s broader strategic direction.
“A creative person helming our largest creative agency in India says everything about where we stand,” Wadhwa said.
