Blinkit Expands to Jammu, Promises 10-Minute Deliveries
Blinkit launches in Jammu with 10-minute deliveries. Explore how this expansion intensifies competition in India’s rapidly growing quick commerce sector.
Blinkit, the Zomato-owned quick commerce platform, has officially launched in Jammu, marking a significant step in its expansion. The company introduced three new stores in key locations—Trikuta Nagar, Roop Nagar, and Akhnoor Road. According to Albinder Dhindsa, Founder and CEO of Blinkit, the Trikuta Nagar store will cater to Preet Nagar and Railhead Road, while the Roop Nagar outlet will service Durga Nagar and Bhawaninagar. The Akhnoor Road store will focus on Shakti Nagar and Rehari Colony. Dhindsa expressed excitement about the expansion, promising quick and reliable deliveries to the local customers.
The entry into Jammu puts Blinkit in direct competition with other players in India’s growing quick commerce market, including rivals like Zepto and Swiggy Instamart, all aiming to dominate the fast delivery space. The demand for speedy services continues to rise, and this expansion reflects Blinkit's commitment to meeting those needs.
India's quick commerce market, currently valued at approximately $3.34 billion, is expected to grow rapidly, reaching an estimated $9.95 billion by 2029, with a compound annual growth rate of over 4.5%. Despite this impressive growth, the segment has only tapped into around 7% of its total potential market, valued at $45 billion, which suggests plenty of opportunities for further expansion and development within the industry.
Blinkit’s strategic expansion into Jammu shows the company’s determination to capitalize on the booming quick commerce sector and reinforce its market position. The rapid growth of the quick commerce industry in India presents significant opportunities for companies like Blinkit, which is positioning itself as a leader in this competitive field.
