WhatsApp may soon offer customizable chat themes: Here's how
WhatsApp is testing a new chat theme feature in iOS beta 24.11.10.70, allowing users to customize chat bubble colors and wallpapers, with four additional themes planned
WhatsApp users, long accustomed to the app's signature green theme, may soon have the option to personalize their experience with different themes, at least on iOS devices. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is developing a new default chat theme feature, set to be available in a future update.
Currently spotted in the TestFlight beta program, this feature will allow users to customize the color of their chat bubbles. The WhatsApp beta for iOS version 24.11.10.70 shows that the company is refining this feature and plans to add four additional chat theme options. Selecting a new theme will also update the wallpaper and bubble color to match the chosen palette.
AI-Generated Profile Pictures Coming to WhatsApp
In addition to customizable themes, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a feature that allows users to generate AI-based profile pictures. Spotted in the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.11.17, this feature will let users create personalized profile images using an AI image generator.
Users will enter a text prompt, and the AI will generate an image based on the provided details. This feature could appeal to users concerned about privacy, offering an alternative to sharing personal photos. WhatsApp already includes a security feature that prevents contacts from taking screenshots of profile photos, further protecting users' privacy.
These updates reflect WhatsApp's ongoing efforts to enhance user experience and privacy, keeping the app relevant and engaging for its vast user base.
