Unweaving Memories: How Taneira’s New Durga Pujo Campaign Honors the Generational Bond of Sarees

The ritualistic return of Maa Durga to her maternal home carries a profound emotional resonance across households. Drawing inspiration from this sentiment, Taneira, the ethnic wear brand from Tata, has unveiled its Durga Pujo campaign titled ‘From a Mother’s Hands to Yours.’ The campaign film draws a poignant parallel between the Goddess’s homecoming and a daughter’s journey back to her cultural roots during the festive season.

Tracing Life’s Milestones Through Six Yards of Grace

The heart of the campaign film captures the evolving relationship between a daughter and the saree across different stages of growing up. It traces her path from playing dress-up in her mother’s oversized sarees as a child, to borrowing them during adolescence, and finally learning the art of draping independently.

A central visual motif throughout the film is the gentle, reassuring gesture of the mother adjusting her daughter’s pleats and anchal before she steps out for Pujo celebrations. Over time, as the daughter grows confident enough to drape herself, she comes full circle by gifting her mother a new saree—a quiet passing of wisdom, care, and tradition between generations.

Unveiling the Pujo ’26 Edit

Coinciding with the campaign launch, Taneira introduced its Pujo ’26 Edit, designed to celebrate India’s rich textile heritage. The lineup features the Laal Paar range with 31 distinct designs showcasing the iconic red-and-white motif central to Durga Pujo festivities. Additionally, the edit incorporates festive sarees crafted in Murshidabad Silk, Tussar, Banaras Silk, Organza, and intricately embroidered silks.

A Repository of Emotion and Tradition

Speaking on the emotional core of the campaign, Somprabh Kumar Singh, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Taneira, noted that earliest festive memories are often intertwined with mothers—watching them prepare, learning rituals, and experiencing a saree for the first time. He highlighted that Durga Pujo’s spirit of homecoming provides the ideal backdrop to honor these personal connections, positioning the saree not just as style, but as a cherished repository of memories and traditions.
