TVS Motor Outpaces Bajaj Auto in July Sales Growth, EV Sales Surge 158%
TVS Motor outpaced Bajaj Auto in July sales growth, driven by strong domestic demand and a 158% surge in electric two-wheeler sales.

TVS Motor Company’s July 2026 sales growth surpassed Bajaj Auto’s on the back of strong domestic demand and a considerable rise in electric vehicle (EV) sales.
TVS Motor's total sales grew 38% YoY to 6,29,675 units in July 2023 from 4,56,350 units in the same month last year.
In comparison, Bajaj Auto’s combined two-wheeler and commercial vehicle sales increased 30% year-on-year to 4,74,677 units during the month.
TVS Motor’s two-wheeler sales jumped 38% to 6,03,138 units against 4,38,790 units in July 2025.

EV Surge:
The domestic two-wheeler sales grew at an even faster pace, up 42% to 4,37,394 units against 3,08,720 units a year ago.
Electric vehicles still remained an important growth engine for the company. Sales of electric two-wheelers rose a whopping 158% year-on-year to 60,934 units, compared with 23,605 units in July 2018.
TVS Motor has also seen good growth in overseas markets. International sales rose 29% to 1.84,264 units and international two-wheeler sales increased 27% to 1.65,744 units.
Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto’s domestic two-wheeler sales grew 19% to 1,65,747 units in July 2026.
The company’s export business also remained strong with two-wheeler exports up 42% YoY to 2,22,972 units.

Commercial Growth:
Commercial vehicle domestic sales increased by 24 percent to 54,445 units and exports grew by 22 percent to 31,513 units during the month.
Bajaj Auto’s domestic two-wheeler sales rose 13 per cent to 7.52 lakh units in April-July FY27 and exports increased 49 per cent to 8.58 lakh units.
Bajaj Auto sold 19,12,928 units in the first four months of FY27 including commercial vehicles, up 29% year-on-year.
