Telegram briefly vanished from search results in Apple’s App Store in several regions, making it impossible for users to find the messaging app using standard search terms, and sparking rampant speculation online.
Telegram’s own App Store page eventually came back online, but some users reported inconsistent search visibility even after the issue was seemingly fixed.
Apple has not publicly commented on the temporary disruption, or explained what caused it.

Speculation follows viral Telegram post:
The incident followed a post from Telegram’s official account on X about the long-running public debate over the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein and also referenced the upcoming launch of Grand Theft Auto VI.
Some social media users speculated that the two events were related, and suggested that Apple cracked down on the app as the App Store search problem came to light shortly after the post went viral.
However, there is no evidence that the social media post had anything to do with Telegram’s temporary disappearance from App Store search results. Neither Apple nor Telegram have said the two are connected.
No official explanation:
The short-lived outage has raised concerns about app discovery on Apple’s marketplace, particularly when popular apps are difficult to find, although they are still available for download.
Apple has not commented on whether the incident was due to a technical problem, a moderation process or some other internal change.
Telegram has not made a statement about the temporary search outage.
