Sonia Huria, previously the Head of Communications at Amazon Prime Video in the APAC region, has made a significant career shift. She has been appointed the new Head of Brand, Consumer & Social Communications at Maddock Films, a move she announced on her LinkedIn. This marks an exciting new chapter in her career, signaling a shift from her successful tenure at Amazon to a prominent position in the Indian film industry.

Huria’s career has been nothing short of impressive. She joined Amazon Prime Video in 2020 as part of the global communications team, where she played a key role in shaping PR and communications for the OTT platform in India. Her efforts contributed to the platform's rapid expansion and increasing market presence in the country. She was promoted in October 2023 to Head of Communications - APAC, overseeing the platform's narrative across the entire Asia-Pacific region. During her time there, she played a major role in curating the brand's messaging and communications strategy.

Before her tenure at Amazon, Huria was instrumental in shaping the communications landscape at Viacom18, where she held a leadership role for nearly a decade. Her time there began in 2008 when she was part of the team responsible for launching the Hindi general entertainment channel COLORS. Under her leadership, the channel quickly became the leading channel in its category, thanks to her expertise in brand building and strategic communications. She continued her work with Viacom18 across various business units, contributing significantly to its growth and recognition across broadcast entertainment, filmed entertainment, digital entertainment, and consumer products.

Her new role at Maddock Films is expected to be an exciting opportunity to leverage her deep expertise in storytelling, branding, and communications.
