NFL Christmas Day Games Stream on Netflix with Star Performances

Netflix is bringing the holiday spirit to sports fans this year by streaming two exciting NFL games on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024. The Kansas City Chiefs, reigning Super Bowl LVIII champions, will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers, while the Baltimore Ravens square off against the Houston Texans. This special event marks Netflix’s growing venture into live sports, offering viewers an unforgettable blend of football and entertainment.

The games promise more than thrilling matchups, with Mariah Carey and Beyoncé set to light up the stage. Carey will kick off the festivities with a new rendition of her iconic hit, "All I Want for Christmas Is You." At the Chiefs vs. Steelers game, the national anthem will be performed by Voices of Service, a group of retired military veterans, while Pentatonix will take over anthem duties at the Ravens vs. Texans game in Houston.

Adding to the excitement, Beyoncé will headline the halftime show, debuting tracks from her latest album, Cowboy Carter, in a live performance sure to captivate audiences.

For the first time, all Netflix subscribers will have access to the Christmas Day games, which will also be locally broadcast in the competing teams’ home and away markets. Additionally, fans can stream the games on NFL+ for mobile devices.

However, there’s a twist for U.S. viewers: the games will only be available on Netflix for a limited time, expiring three hours after the live broadcast ends. International fans, on the other hand, can enjoy the games for 24 hours post-livestream.

Christmas Day football is not a new concept. The NFL introduced Yuletide games in 1971, and since their reintroduction in 1989, they’ve become a holiday staple. In recent years, these matchups have drawn massive audiences. Last year’s games, including the Raiders vs. Chiefs, featuring appearances by Taylor Swift and Santa Claus, ranked among the top 25 most-watched TV programs of 2023.

With Netflix stepping into the arena, this year’s Christmas Day NFL games are set to be unmissable, combining the intensity of football with the glamour of live performances. As Netflix continues to explore live sports, fans can look forward to more innovative collaborations like this in the future.
