A Three-Part Narrative of Festive Rituals

Ethnic wear brand Libas has launched its latest campaign, ‘Lal Ishq – A Celebration of First Karwa Chauth’, bringing to light the emotional journey of a newlywed bride celebrating the festival for the first time.

The narrative is structured into three distinct phases that cover the essential moments of Karwa Chauth:

  • Preparation & Shringar: The journey begins with the bride dressing up and getting ready for the auspicious day.
  • Pooja & Family Traditions: The second act highlights the evening rituals and traditional pooja that gather the family together.
  • The Sieve Ceremony: The campaign concludes with the moonrise, featuring the iconic sieve ritual shared between the bride and her husband.

Indian Wear as a Part of Cultural Memories

Through Lal Ishq, Libas explores how traditional apparel forms an integral part of festive celebrations and personal milestones. Speaking on the campaign's vision, Nisha Khatri, Head of Marketing at Libas, shared:

"At Libas, we see Indian wear as an integral part of how women experience and express themselves during important cultural occasions. 'Lal Ishq' brings this thought to life through a milestone that holds particular significance for a newlywed bride.

By capturing the journey from festive preparations to the rituals of Karwa Chauth, we wanted to show how clothing becomes part of the experience and the memories associated with it. The campaign reflects our approach to making culturally rooted fashion relevant to the contemporary Indian woman."
