Global technology leader Google has announced to nurture with technology the first class of 20 women-founded/co-founded start-ups in yet another effort to make technology accessible to women in India. These startups were chosen for the first cohort of the "Google for Startups Accelerator-India Women Founders" programme from a pool of around 400 applications.

The new project, according to the tech giant, will focus particularly on access to networks, access to funding, recruiting difficulties, mentorship, and many other issues that, due to a variety of social factors and poor representation, cause difficulties for female founders.

The programme will also feature workshops and support for topics like AI/ML, Cloud, UX, Android, Web, product strategy, and growth, according to the company. It will also give access to a global community of female founders. Aspire for Her, Brown Living, CoLLearn Education, Commudle, Dubverse, Elda Health, Fitbots, and other firms were among those chosen.

According to Google, "this programme is part of a larger effort to improve the representation of women across different segments of India's digitally trained workforce - be it entrepreneurship, professionals looking to upskill, or young graduates seeking a head start on their career"
