boAt has expanded beyond audio and wearables with its entry into the dashcam segment, unveiling the new Hive Dashcam lineup aimed at Indian road conditions. With this move, the brand steps into automotive tech, positioning its devices as tools that offer drivers something critical during road incidents — clear and dependable visual documentation.

The Hive Dashcam series has been introduced with multiple variants designed for different user needs, from first-time buyers to safety-focused motorists and commercial operators. Across the range, boAt is emphasising reliability, ease of use and imaging performance, particularly in difficult lighting environments.

Commenting on the expansion, Gaurav Nayyar, CEO at boAt, said, “As we continue to expand boAt’s portfolio beyond audio and wearables, our entry into dashcams is a natural extension of our vision to build smart, meaningful tech for today’s consumers. With Indian roads becoming increasingly complex, dashcams are no longer a luxury but a necessity. At boAt, we aim to bring reliable, well-engineered and design-forward solutions that make everyday journeys safer and more confident.”

A central highlight of the series is the use of Sony STARVIS sensors, aimed at maintaining clarity whether in low light or high glare. The technology is intended to help capture readable license plates and sharper road details, an important factor in dispute resolution and insurance processes.

The flagship Hive Dashcam F1 focuses on maximum coverage and premium features. It offers dual-channel recording with 4K capture at the front and Full HD at the rear. The model also integrates an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), delivering voice alerts for potential lane departures and forward collisions. Added capabilities such as GPS route logging, voice control and Wi-Fi app connectivity position it as a high-end option for users seeking comprehensive monitoring.

Sitting in the middle of the lineup, the Hive Dashcam M1 targets those looking for strong performance with a more compact footprint. It records in 2K QHD through a wide-angle lens and includes built-in GPS for speed and route tracking. A G-sensor automatically detects impacts and locks emergency footage, while storage support of up to 512GB caters to longer drives.

For daily urban usage, the Hive Dashcam E1 is designed around practicality and affordability. With 1296p recording, loop capture and automatic emergency triggers, it is aimed at commuters, school runs and commercial vehicles. Its compact build allows discreet installation, while Wi-Fi connectivity enables quick access to recordings via smartphone.

Beyond recording journeys, boAt is positioning the Hive range as a confidence tool for drivers. Features such as onboard storage, app integration, optional cloud compatibility and motion-based parking surveillance aim to ensure monitoring continues even when the vehicle is stationary.

With the Hive series, boAt signals its intent to participate more deeply in connected mobility, while extending its reputation for accessible consumer technology into a category that is steadily gaining mainstream relevance.
