Ankur Warikoo has announced the immediate shutdown of his education platform, bringing an end to a business that had operated profitably for six years and generated approximately ₹100 crore in total sales.

The announcement was made through a post shared by Warikoo on X, formerly known as Twitter, where he described the move as a strategic decision despite the venture’s strong financial performance.

Launched during the online learning boom of 2020, the platform emerged as a large-scale upskilling business that reportedly served around five lakh learners over the course of its operations.

Profitable Platform Faces Shutdown:

According to the information shared, the business generated ₹25 crore in net profits alongside its ₹100 crore sales milestone.

Despite the profitability and scale achieved by the platform, Warikoo said continuing the business “did not make sense,” adding that the venture had grown much larger than he had originally imagined when it first began.

The decision marks a significant shift for Warikoo, who has built one of India’s most visible digital personal-growth and creator-led education brands over the last few years.

Before entering the creator economy full-time, Warikoo served as the former CEO of Nearbuy.com.

Creator Economy Reacts Strongly:

Over time, he expanded his online presence through content focused on entrepreneurship, productivity, finance, careers and personal development.

According to the report, Warikoo currently has more than seven million subscribers on YouTube, nearly four million followers on Instagram and around seven lakh followers on X.

The closure of the platform has generated discussion within India’s creator economy and online education ecosystem because the venture remained profitable at the time of the decision.

Warikoo has said he will explain the deeper reasoning behind the shutdown and discuss his next steps in a video scheduled to release on May 16, 2026, at 8:30 PM IST.

The development reflects how creator-led businesses and digital education ventures are increasingly reassessing long-term direction and operational focus even in cases where commercial performance remains strong.
