Quick commerce platform Zepto is turning five and to mark the milestone, the company has launched a personalised in-app birthday reel that chronicles its journey from a startup in 2021 to one of the largest grocery delivery platforms in India.

The illustrated film is available to users through the Zepto app and highlights key milestones in the growth of the company with some parts of the experience being curated for each customer.

The reel starts with Zepto’s inception in 2021 with its founders Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra on a pink scooter, as the company promised to deliver groceries in minutes.

Growth Journey:

It then guides users through the company’s growth over the last five years. By 2022, Zepto said it was running more than 250 stores and processing 2.5 lakh orders each day. By 2023, its catalogue had expanded to over 80,000 products and 2024 marked the launch and expansion of Zepto Cafe.

The company announced 2025 as the last milestone and said it had processed 25 lakh orders in a day.

The campaign also leverages personalised user data such as the customer’s city, the year they placed their first Zepto order and the total number of orders placed, making every anniversary reel unique to the individual user.

The film ends with a message from the founders thanking customers for being part of Zepto's journey, ending with the line, "For us, it's still Day One."
