Warner Bros. Discovery and Viacom18 establish a collaboration for exclusive content in India

A new multi-year deal between Warner Bros. Discovery and Viacom18 will make JioCinema India's new streaming home for HBO, Max Original, and Warner Bros. content starting next month. In their quest to provide consumers with unrivaled world-class programming, the partnership—which includes exclusive content rights across digital and linear platforms—represents a significant advancement for both organizations.

As a result of the partnership, Viacom18 will provide its Indian subscribers with a content slate across linear channels and the JioCinema streaming service. The JioCinema debuts of HBO Original, Max Original, and Warner Bros. television shows are scheduled for the same day as the US.

The contract includes returning seasons of Perry Mason, True Detective: Night Country, Euphoria, Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, and The Last of Us, as well as current and upcoming seasons of the critically renowned HBO programs House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, Succession, and The White Lotus. The eagerly awaited HBO Original Shows The Idol, White House Plumbers, The Sympathizer, and The Regime are all included in the agreement. Users will also have access to some of HBO's most prestigious shows and documentaries, such as Game of Thrones, Sex & the City, Big Little Lies, Chernobyl, and Veep.

Max Original programs from J.J. Abrams and LaToya Morgan, such as And Just Like That..., Peacemaker, and The Flight Attendant, eagerly awaited debuts like Dune: The Sisterhood, The Batman spinoff The Penguin, and Duster, as well as well-liked Warner Bros. The selection also includes television shows like Gotham Knights and East New York.

JioCinema will also provide upcoming blockbusters from Warner Bros., a sizable film collection, including Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and DC Universe movies, as well as children's animated films like Dexter's Laboratory and Tom and Jerry Kids.

"Warner Bros. Discovery's brands are incredibly well-known throughout India, and we are pleased to partner with Viacom18 to bring our premium HBO, Max Original, and Warner Bros. content to local fans," said Clement Schwebig, President of Warner Bros. Discovery for India, Southeast Asia, and Korea. This new arrangement strengthens the scope of our regional business overall and underscores our commitment to South Asia as we work to entertain viewers across more channels.

JioCinema has grown to be the largest platform for live sports, according to Ferzad Palia, Head of SVOD & International Business at Viacom18. We are now working to create the most alluring entertainment destination for all Indians. A significant step in our mission to provide our affluent customers with the best Hollywood entertainment is the strategic alliance with Warner Bros. Discovery. The relationship with Warner Bros. Discovery, which we think sets the bar for premium content globally, enables us to provide the greatest and most complete destination for our users.
