Vi Partners With Spotify to Offer Premium Streaming Benefits to Postpaid Users

Vi has partnered with Spotify to offer three months of complimentary Spotify Premium to eligible postpaid users, expanding its digital entertainment offerings.

Telecom operator Vi has teamed up with audio streaming platform Spotify to offer free Spotify Premium to eligible postpaid subscribers as part of its digital entertainment benefits portfolio.

Under the partnership, Vi Postpaid customers on eligible plans will receive three months of Spotify Premium free of cost on activation or retention of their connection. As part of their collaboration, the companies said they will also look into other offerings to enhance the digital entertainment experience for customers.

This offer is part of Vi's strategy of bundling mobile connectivity with premium lifestyle services to offer more value to subscribers.

Premium Streaming:

Users eligible for the offer will get free Spotify Premium subscription that will provide them with ad-free streaming music service, offline downloads, unlimited skips, on-demand playback and high-quality audio streaming of up to 320 kbps. The service also gives you access to over 100 million songs and over seven million podcast titles.

Commenting on the partnership, Avneesh Khosla, Chief Marketing Officer at Vi, said, “Music is central to our customers' digital lives. We are thrilled to partner with Spotify to bring premium music and audio experiences to our user base.”

“This collaboration strengthens our entertainment ecosystem, which we have built over the years by partnering with global leaders. By combining forces with Spotify, we are offering an unmatched content mix that makes Vi the top choice for subscribers,” he added.

Telco Partnership:

Amarjit Batra, Managing Director, Spotify India, said the partnership marks Spotify's first telecom collaboration in India.

“Music is an essential part of everyday life for millions of Indians, whether they are commuting, working out or unwinding. Through our first-of-its-kind telco partnership in India with Vi, we are making Spotify Premium more accessible to music and podcast fans across the country while helping more Vi users experience the value of a premium streaming experience,” he said.

“We are not only enhancing the listening experience but also helping create greater long-term value for artists, creators and the wider music industry in India,” Batra added.

Eligible customers who have not previously subscribed to Spotify Premium can activate the benefit via the Vi App.

The offer is available on Vi Individual Postpaid plans of Rs 451, Rs 551, Rs 751 and Rs 1,201 (REDX) and Family Postpaid plans of Rs 701/Rs 751, Rs 871, Rs 1,201/Rs 1,301, Rs 1,401/Rs 1,526 and Rs 1,601 (REDX Family). The Spotify Premium benefit will be available to the primary member of any family plan.
