Twitter removes blue ticks from accounts; affected users include SRK, Virat Kohli, and Ratan Tata

On April 20, Elon Musk followed through on his pledge to eliminate the venerable Blue Tick, as evidenced by the large number of celebrity profiles without the icon.

A few days ago, Musk made the decision to remove the blue ticks next to non-paying accounts visible.

The decision became effective on Thursday as the microblogging site began deleting blue ticks from the profiles. Profiles of politicians, government officials, journalists, writers, and performers are among those that are impacted.

Shah Rukh Khan, Rajnikant, Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, and more Indian celebs have high profiles among Indians. Politicians Yogi Adityanath, Rahul Gandhi, Donald Trump, and Arvind Kejriwal have also lost their confirmed blue tick.

Additionally, the logo has been taken off of the Twitter profiles of businessmen Rata Tata and Anand Mahindra. Those who were impacted include athletes Cristiano Ronaldo, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli.

The tick still appears on the profiles of Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
