Salman Khan Slams Ashneer Grover for False Claims

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan recently took Ashneer Grover, the former Shark Tank India judge, to task on the reality show Bigg Boss 18. Khan confronted Grover about his exaggerated claims regarding their business dealings, particularly a brand endorsement deal with BharatPe.

Grover, known for his outspoken nature and sharp tongue, had previously made statements about negotiating Salman's fee for the BharatPe deal. He had claimed to have reduced the fee from Rs 7.5 crore to Rs 4.5 crore, likening the negotiation process to haggling at a vegetable market. Grover had also alleged that Salman's team denied him a photo with the actor, leading to a snide remark about Salman's "attitude."

However, on Bigg Boss 18, Salman clarified that these claims were inaccurate. He emphasized that there was no extended one-on-one meeting between them, and the level of camaraderie implied by Grover's statements was far from reality. Khan questioned Grover's "hypocrisy," asking, "You said, 'We have signed him for this much.' You also gave the wrong figures. So what is this double standard?"

Grover, visibly taken aback, attempted to defend himself, stating that hiring Salman as a brand ambassador was a smart move. Nevertheless, Salman's firm rebuke left Grover flustered, forcing him to issue a public apology.

The incident has sparked significant online discussion, with many netizens mocking Grover for his overblown claims and his attempt to downplay his previous statements. The viral clip of the confrontation has further fueled the controversy, highlighting the consequences of making unsubstantiated claims, even for a seasoned businessman.

This isn't the first time Grover has courted controversy. He previously turned down an offer to appear on Bigg Boss, claiming he would only participate if paid more than Salman Khan. He also boasted about rejecting Virat Kohli as a brand ambassador, opting instead to sign multiple cricketers for a fraction of Kohli's fee.

Grover's penchant for making bold statements and his tendency to exaggerate has often landed him in hot water. The recent confrontation with Salman Khan serves as a reminder that words can have consequences, even for those who are accustomed to being in the spotlight.
