Riteish & Genelia Deshmukh Join Pune United for Pickleball Revolution
Pune United, backed by Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, joins the World Pickleball League to promote fitness, community, and innovation in Pune's vibrant sports scene.
The World Pickleball League (WPBL) is set to kick off on January 24, 2025, and with it comes an exciting announcement—Pune United, the city's very own pickleball franchise. This dynamic team is backed by a star-studded and visionary group of owners, including Bollywood power couple Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, corporate leaders Sudhir and Sunanda Mehta from EKA Mobility and Pinnacle Industries, and influential educators Ajeenkya D Y Patil and Pooja Patil from Ajeenkya DY Patil University.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Riteish Deshmukh emphasized the sport’s rapid rise. “Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the world. Its popularity spans all age groups, and we’re thrilled to be part of the World Pickleball League. With Pune United, we aim to build a team that inspires players to excel and encourages families and communities to embrace this exciting game, promoting healthier and fitter lifestyles.”
Adding her voice, Genelia Deshmukh highlighted the transformative potential of the sport. “Pune United is serving up a storm.
