Oakley’s ‘Artifacts from the Future’ Campaign Stars Shubman Gill

Oakley India has unveiled its bold new campaign, “Artifacts from the Future,” featuring India’s Test Captain Shubman Gill as the face of its next-generation performance eyewear collection. The campaign introduces eyewear designed for the year 2075 but launched today in 2025, continuing Oakley’s five-decade legacy of innovation, style, and cultural impact.

A Visionary Campaign for a Futuristic Collection

The campaign film showcases Shubman Gill wearing two standout products from the collection—Plantaris and Lateralis. Plantaris is a high-wrap eyewear piece with a flexible silicone rear stem inspired by the motion of a frog mid-leap, symbolizing agility and power. Lateralis complements this with a heritage-inspired yet modern silhouette that blends Oakley’s iconic design language with futuristic elements.

Sahil Jandial, Senior Brand Business Manager at Oakley India, emphasized the significance of this campaign:

“2025 marks Oakley’s 50-year anniversary—a milestone celebrating decades of transforming innovation into cultural icons. ‘Artifacts from the Future’ embodies how Oakley pushes design boundaries while honoring its roots. Shubman Gill perfectly represents this philosophy, embodying performance, style, and precision both on and off the field.”

Shubman Gill: The New Face of Oakley’s Future

Shubman Gill expressed his excitement about the campaign and the collection:

“With Oakley, we want to show that the future isn’t distant—it’s something we’re creating today. These designs feel like they belong to 2075, yet they’re available now, combining Oakley’s legendary innovation with a fresh, bold look. I’m thrilled to be part of this journey that’s about pushing limits and inspiring growth, whether in sports or life.”

Gill’s association with Oakley marks a fusion of sports excellence and cutting-edge design, positioning him as a powerful cultural and athletic icon in India.

Crafting a Futuristic World Through Visuals

The campaign’s visuals and motion graphics were developed by Brandmovers India, led by founder and Chief Creative Officer Suvajyoti Ghosh. The creative team built an immersive futuristic world around the product, exploring themes of futurism rarely seen in Indian advertising. Ghosh said:

“The brief fascinated us from the start. With a range called ‘Artifacts from the Future,’ we knew we had to create an entire world around the products. It was exciting to explore futurism and help Oakley take this bold leap.”

  • Plantaris is priced from ₹15,590.
  • Lateralis starts at ₹10,290.
