In a major portfolio expansion, fast-growing ethnic wear label Libas has officially entered the fashion jewellery segment with a collection featuring over 100 styles. The strategic launch marks the brand's second big move beyond traditional clothing, following its recent entry into fragrances.
The new jewellery line is tailored specifically for India's upcoming festive and wedding seasons. Priced between ₹399 and ₹1,299, the range includes complete jewellery sets, traditional mangalsutras, statement necklaces, chains, bangles, and earrings. Across the collection, Libas has incorporated gold-plated, silver-plated, and oxidised finishes, all engineered with anti-tarnish coatings to ensure product durability.
Strategic Push into Multi-Category Lifestyle Retail
Libas' foray into jewellery aligns with a broader trend among D2C fashion brands leveraging their core customer bases to capture higher wallet share. By offering complementary lifestyle categories like accessories and fragrances, the brand aims to drive cross-selling and boost average order values ahead of peak shopping periods.
Commenting on the expansion, Sidhant Keshwani, Founder & CEO of Libas, said: "Libas has always been built around a deep understanding of the Indian consumer and how fashion is evolving across occasions. Our entry into jewellery is a natural progression of that vision, but more importantly, it reflects our ambition to build Libas as a larger fashion business. As we expand into new categories, our focus will remain on creating strong consumer relevance while building businesses that can scale over the long term."
Phased Omnichannel Rollout Strategy
To scale the new vertical efficiently, Libas is executing a digital-first distribution roadmap:
- Digital Channels First: The collection has initially launched across the brand’s proprietary website, mobile app, and leading e-commerce marketplaces to capitalize on existing online traffic.
- Retail Outlet Expansion: Following the online rollout, Libas plans to integrate the jewellery range into its offline network of Exclusive Brand Outlets (EBOs), creating physical cross-merchandising setups alongside its apparel collections.
Market Outlook & Retail Impact
The launch comes at a time when the Indian fashion jewellery market is seeing rapid growth driven by value-seeking consumers looking for anti-tarnish, premium-looking accessories at accessible price points.
By keeping the entire range under ₹1,300 while covering multiple metal finishes and design styles, Libas positions itself directly at the intersection of impulse buys and curated festive shopping. The phased rollout strategy allows the brand to gauge online demand before deploying inventory across its brick-and-mortar retail footprint, minimizing operational friction while establishing a foothold in the high-margin accessory space.
