Google has announced the appointment of Preeti Lobana as its new Country Manager and Vice President for India. Lobana, a seasoned professional with over 30 years of leadership experience, has been with Google for the past eight years. She previously served as the Vice President of Customer-Centric Solutions, where she led initiatives to deliver impactful solutions for businesses across various sectors. Now, as the head of Google India's sales and operations, Lobana will drive the company's strategy to expand artificial intelligence (AI) adoption and foster digital innovation throughout India.

In her new role, Lobana will focus on leveraging the transformative power of AI technologies like Gemini 2.0 to address India’s unique challenges and unlock economic opportunities for businesses. Her leadership will be instrumental in helping Google India engage more deeply with the country's digital ecosystem, ensuring that businesses of all sizes can take advantage of AI-driven solutions to thrive in the digital age.

Commenting on the appointment, Sanjay Gupta, President of Asia-Pacific for Google, expressed his enthusiasm for Lobana’s appointment, highlighting India’s dynamic digital landscape as an inspiration for the company’s efforts. Gupta emphasized that with AI poised to redefine business possibilities, Lobana’s leadership would be crucial in shaping the future of digital innovation in India. He also mentioned that Lobana will work closely with Roma Datta Chobey, who will continue her work as Managing Director for Google India's Digital Native Industries.

Before joining Google, she worked with major financial institutions like NatWest Group, American Express, Standard Chartered, and ANZ Grindlays Bank, where she built expertise in business strategy, product management, and operational excellence.

In her most recent role at Google, Lobana managed global teams and drove innovative ad solutions to support Google’s customers and partners. Her new role in India will involve working with Google’s diverse teams to continue business transformation, support customer experiences, and further the company’s mission to empower India’s businesses through technology.
