Godrej Capital Deepens LGBTQIA+ Inclusion with ‘Qnity’ Launch
Godrej Capital launches ‘Qnity’ to foster LGBTQIA+ inclusion, support, and allyship in the workplace and beyond.
Godrej Capital, the financial arm of the Godrej Industries Group, has taken a significant step forward in its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) journey by launching ‘Qnity’, a dedicated Employee Resource Group (ERG) for LGBTQIA+ employees and allies. This initiative not only marks a milestone for the company but also sets a new benchmark for inclusion and representation in India’s financial services sector.
Building on a Foundation of Inclusion
The launch of Qnity builds on the foundation laid by Pride Capital, Godrej Capital’s earlier initiative aimed at expanding queer representation within the organization. Qnity’s mission is to create a safe, supportive space where LGBTQIA+ employees and allies can connect, share experiences, and foster a culture rooted in belonging and respect. The group will drive year-round engagement through mentorship circles, learning forums, partnerships, and ongoing programming, ensuring that inclusion is not just a one-time event but a continuous journey.
Real Progress, Real Impact
Godrej Capital’s commitment to inclusion is backed by concrete action. Over the past year, the company screened more than 500 LGBTQIA+ profiles through targeted outreach and strategic partnerships. This effort led to a fivefold increase in the onboarding of LGBTQIA+ professionals during Pride Month 2025, reflecting a growing commitment to representation and belonging in the financial services industry.
The company has also rolled out several inclusive policies:
- All-gender restrooms across office locations
- Gender affirmative care policy for employees
- Flexible leave for diverse life journeys
- Loan products tailored for same-gender partners—a first among several NBFCs
These measures demonstrate Godrej Capital’s belief that true inclusion must extend beyond the workplace and positively impact the lives of the communities it serves.
Innovative Hiring and Awareness Initiatives
Godrej Capital’s award-winning hiring initiative, Pride Path, has set new standards for industry inclusion. By focusing on expanding opportunities within the Collections function, Pride Path has opened doors for both LGBT+ individuals and cis women, recognizing the value of diverse talent and perspectives. The company’s approach is about more than numbers—it’s about fostering a workplace where everyone has the opportunity to grow and thrive.
Celebrating Pride with Purpose
To mark Pride Month 2025, Godrej Capital launched a series of purpose-driven initiatives to build awareness and encourage allyship. In collaboration with the Aravani Art Project, a trans-led collective, the company co-created a mural titled “Building Financial Inclusion Together” at its upcoming Kanjurmarg office. This vibrant artwork, developed with input from queer artists and senior leaders, stands as a symbol of unity, identity, and visible allyship.
Additionally, the company brought queer narratives to its customer-facing teams through Nukkad Natak performances at branches, sparking dialogue and empathy. Internally, a sensitization campaign called Inclusion 101 was rolled out to promote inclusive language, understanding of microaggressions, and everyday allyship—moving beyond symbolic gestures toward lasting change.
Leadership Speaks
Bhavya Misra, Chief Human Resources Officer at Godrej Capital, emphasized the importance of lived experience:
“Inclusion is meaningful only when it’s part of how people experience the workplace every day. The launch of Pride Capital brings that to life by creating space for LGBTQIA+ employees and allies to connect, feel seen, and shape a culture rooted in belonging. It is an attempt to create a space where identities are respected, voices are heard, and support is backed by action.”
Looking Forward
As Pride Month 2025 concludes, Qnity is set to drive deeper inclusion at Godrej Capital, focusing on representation, respect, and recognition for all identities. With ongoing mentorship, learning, and leadership engagement, the company is building a workplace—and a financial services industry—where everyone can thrive, regardless of who they are.
