Ganga Kinare 2.0: Music, Culture, and Sustainability Unite in Varanasi

Havas Play is bringing back the Ganga Kinare Music Festival for its second edition on December 7, 2024, at the iconic Namo Ghat, Varanasi. With Hero MotoCorp as the title sponsor, this event seamlessly blends music, sustainability, and tradition, reinforcing its commitment to environmental stewardship and cultural celebration. Anchored by the Namami Gange Programme, the festival aims to inspire a greater public commitment to the clean and sustainable rejuvenation of the Ganga River.

The event will feature a mesmerizing performance by Kailasa, the legendary band led by Padmashri Kailash Kher, whose soulful melodies celebrate India’s heritage. Joining him on stage will be Yashika Sikka, captivating the audience with her heartfelt musical storytelling. From live performances to a spiritual Ganga Aarti conducted by local priests, the festival promises a deeply immersive cultural experience.

Hero MotoCorp will showcase its cutting-edge products, such as the Mavrick 440, Karizma XMR, and Destini Prime, emphasizing the synergy of technology and sustainability. As the title sponsor, Hero MotoCorp will also honor artists for their contributions to India’s rich musical tradition, underscoring its vision of fostering cultural richness and environmental consciousness.

Mohit Joshi, CEO of Havas Media Network India, highlighted the festival’s mission, stating: “Ganga Kinare is not just a festival—it’s a movement uniting art, culture, and sustainability. It rekindles our enduring bond with the Ganga while encouraging spectators to become advocates for river conservation.” The evening will also resonate with messages of preservation and responsibility, transforming attendees into River Guardians.

Kailash Kher expressed his excitement, sharing: “Returning to the Ganga Kinare Music Festival fills my heart with joy. Through our performance, we aim to honor Bharat’s eternal heritage and reaffirm our responsibility to preserve Maa Ganga’s sanctity.”

The festival goes beyond music, aligning with the Namami Gange Mission, India’s flagship initiative to rejuvenate the Ganga. The mission is built on five pillars: Nirmal Ganga, Aviral Ganga, Gyaan Ganga, Jan Ganga, and Arth Ganga, blending cultural heritage with modern sustainability practices.

Supported by sponsors like Vimal Elaichi, Tata Motors, Catch Salts & Spices, and Bisleri, the festival is a collaborative effort to foster cultural progression and environmental awareness. Other partners include Radio City, Amar Ujala, and TV9 Bharatvarsh, ensuring a wide reach for its impactful message.

As attendees experience the magic of music and tradition at Ganga Kinare 2.0, they will also be inspired to take meaningful action for the environment. By celebrating the Ganga’s cultural and ecological significance, the festival creates a legacy of reverence and sustainability that resonates far beyond the event.
