Elon Musk delays India visit due to Tesla commitments
Elon Musk, Tesla's CEO, postpones India visit due to company commitments, expressing anticipation for a later visit this year
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has deferred his anticipated visit to India due to demanding Tesla commitments. Musk expressed regret but remains hopeful for a visit later this year, as announced on social media platform X on April 20.
Initially, Musk had expressed his eagerness to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his India visit, as revealed on April 10, 2024, via the same platform.
The scheduled meeting with PM Modi, set for April 22 in New Delhi, was aimed at discussing various matters, including Tesla's operations in India.
Unfortunately, very heavy Tesla obligations require that the visit to India be delayed, but I do very much look forward to visiting later this year.

This delay comes amidst Tesla's persistent efforts to engage with India, advocating for reduced import taxes on electric vehicles and exploring options for local manufacturing. Reports suggest discussions with Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries for a potential joint venture to establish an EV facility.
Moreover, recent reports indicate Musk's intentions to invest billions in India for a proposed electric car plant, with plans to inject significant capital into the Indian market.
Looking forward to meeting with Prime Minister @NarendraModi in India!
