ITC Ltd. Pays Tribute to Nation with 'Desh Ek Raag' on Independence Day

On India’s 78th Independence Day, ITC Ltd. celebrated by unveiling a unique musical composition titled "Desh Ek Raag," performed by the Gurus and Shishyas of the ITC Sangeet Research Academy (ITC-SRA). This soulful creation, rooted in Hindustani Classical Music, blends both Western and Indian instrumental elements to connect with younger generations while preserving cultural traditions.

The composition, shared by ITC Chairman Sanjiv Puri via LinkedIn, reflects the company’s commitment to honoring India’s heritage. Puri, who also chairs the ITC-SRA Board of Trustees, highlighted that the piece is an ode to the nation, aligning with ITC’s philosophy of "Nation First: Sab Saath Badhein." The music is based on Raag Desh, a key element of India's National Song, Vande Mataram.

Puri expressed his pride in ITC-SRA’s ongoing efforts to nurture and promote Hindustani Classical Music, emphasizing the institution’s nearly five-decade legacy of preserving the Guru-Shishya tradition.
