Instagram Launches ‘Instagram Plus’ Subscription in India at Rs 299 per Month
Instagram has launched Instagram Plus in India, offering premium features, customization tools and enhanced insights for Rs 299 per month.
Instagram rolls out Instagram Plus in India with premium features, enhanced controls and more customisation options beyond the standard Instagram experience
The Rs 299 per month subscription is for users looking for enhanced engagement tools, exclusive features and more personalisation while still using the platform.
The Meta-owned social media company said Instagram Plus is aimed at helping users express themselves better, stay closer to friends and communities, and get access to premium tools and insights.

Premium Features:
Instagram says the subscription will offer a range of features across three main categories: stronger connections, more information and previews, and more customisation.
Subscribers will have access to exclusive Instagram features, more advanced customisation options, and expanded controls and new tools for self-expression. The company also said Instagram Plus users will get more in-depth insights into their activity and access to some features before they’re rolled out more broadly.
Instagram has stressed that the launch of Instagram Plus will not affect the existing free version of the app.
The company said the subscription is entirely optional and is meant to supplement, not replace, the core Instagram experience.

Non-subscribers will still be able to use all the current features of the platform without any restriction.
“Instagram Plus is designed for people who want additional ways to personalise their experience and access premium tools, while continuing to enjoy the Instagram they already know,” the company said.
The launch mirrors a wider trend among digital platforms experimenting with subscription-based business models that offer premium functionality while keeping core services free for the wider user base.
Social media and tech platforms have begun offering paid tiers over the last couple of years to diversify their revenue sources and provide users with a more fulfilling experience, exclusive content and advanced features.
