Cricket legend David Warner has teamed up with Tourism Australia to showcase the beauty of the Land Down Under to Indian travelers. In a new social media series, Warner takes viewers on a virtual tour of his favorite Australian destinations, including Sydney, Melbourne, and the Gold Coast.
The series, launched just weeks before the highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy, aims to entice Indian cricket fans to explore Australia's diverse landscapes, vibrant cities, and unique wildlife. Warner's popularity in India makes him the perfect ambassador to promote Australian tourism.
"From our unique wildlife to our coffee culture, and icons like the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia has so much to offer travelers from India," Warner said. "I'm so excited to have the opportunity to show off our backyard."
Tourism Australia's Managing Director, Phillipa Harrison, emphasized the growing importance of the Indian market: "India is one of the world's fastest-growing economies, and we are seeing a significant increase in Indian travelers visiting Australia. We aim to strengthen our ties with India and attract more visitors to experience the wonders of our country."
To further solidify the partnership between Australia and India, a delegation of Australian tourism CEOs is visiting India to meet with key stakeholders, including airline partners Air India and IndiGo, and travel agencies MakeMyTrip and Thomas Cook. The goal is to enhance air connectivity and promote seamless travel experiences for Indian tourists.
By leveraging the popularity of cricket and the charm of its iconic players, Tourism Australia aims to inspire Indian travelers to discover the diverse and captivating offerings of Australia.
