Lotto Sport Steps Into India With Agilitas Sports
Lotto Sport launches in India via Agilitas Sports, aiming for a ₹1,000 crore brand in 5 years.
Lotto Sport Enters India: Italian Legacy Meets Indian Ambition
Lotto Sport, the iconic Italian sportswear brand, has officially launched in India through a strategic partnership with Agilitas Sports, marking a bold new chapter for both companies. With plans to build Lotto into a ₹1,000 crore brand over the next five years, this move signals major ambitions in India’s booming sportswear and athleisure market.
A Grand Launch With Cricket Icons
The launch campaign is fronted by celebrated cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Abhishek Sharma, instantly connecting Lotto’s global heritage with Indian pop culture. The campaign’s light-hearted video features the duo attempting to pronounce the Italian phrase “Lotto è un marchio di eredità italiana” (“Lotto is a brand of Italian heritage”), setting a fun and relatable tone for Indian consumers.
Yuvraj Singh, who is not just a brand ambassador but also an early investor in Agilitas Sports, described Lotto as “expressive, stylish, and unapologetically fun.” He hinted at exciting collaborations ahead, including a YWC x Lotto collection, blending his entrepreneurial spirit with the brand’s Italian flair.
Italian Design, Made in India
Founded over five decades ago in Montebelluna, Italy, Lotto is renowned for its blend of sports performance and fashion. For its Indian debut, Lotto is introducing the Lotto Leggenda line—a premium sneaker collection inspired by retro designs. These sneakers are designed in Italy but manufactured in India through Agilitas’s footwear arm, Mochiko Shoes, ensuring global quality with local relevance.
Ambitious Expansion Plans
Agilitas Sports, led by co-founder and CEO Abhishek Ganguly, holds exclusive rights to design, manufacture, and distribute Lotto products in India, South Africa, and Australia. The company’s vision is to create a lifestyle-led, multi-market presence, blending Lotto’s international legacy with local execution. Over the next year, Lotto’s product range in India will expand from sneakers to include apparel, accessories, and sports equipment, all tailored for Indian consumers.
Agilitas plans to distribute Lotto products through a mix of online direct-to-consumer channels, exclusive brand outlets, shop-in-shops with retail partners, and leading online marketplaces. The first Lotto stores are expected to open across India by early 2025, with a focus on both major cities and emerging markets.
Why India, Why Now?
India’s sportswear and athleisure market is witnessing unprecedented growth, driven by rising health awareness, increased sports participation, and a young, fashion-forward population. Agilitas’s acquisition of Lotto’s long-term license rights comes at a time when Indian consumers are seeking global brands that offer both performance and style at accessible prices.
Abhishek Ganguly emphasized, “This isn’t just a market entry—it’s about building a brand with ambition and strong category dominance. Lotto has a global legacy, but we’re shaping it for modern India with authenticity, intrigue, and fun”.
Building for the Future
Agilitas is investing in state-of-the-art manufacturing, design innovation, and a dedicated management team to ensure Lotto’s success in India. The company’s vertically integrated supply chain—from manufacturing to retail—will allow it to respond quickly to market trends and consumer feedback.
Beyond products, Agilitas aims to nurture grassroots sports talent, collaborate with designers and artists, and create lasting brand affinity among young, aspirational consumers. Partnerships with athletes and clubs will further cement Lotto’s presence in India’s sporting and cultural landscape.
The Road Ahead
With its playful launch campaign, premium product lineup, and aggressive expansion strategy, Lotto Sport is poised to become a major player in India’s sportswear scene. As Yuvraj Singh puts it, this is “only the start” of an exciting journey blending Italian spirit with Indian energy.
